Emergency Medical Services Operations:

The Union Fire Company Rescue Squad in 2008 has two of the most modern ambulances.  Ambulance 153-1 is a 2000 Braun modular type ambulance, Ambulance 153-2 is a 2004 Horton modular type ambulance.  Both ambulances have the ability to transport two patients simultaneously.  Members of the Rescue Squad are all trained to the Emergency Medical Technician basic level.  Many members are taking courses specializing in pediatric and geriatric emergencies.

Hospitals We Routinely Transport To:

Capital Health System
Fuld Campus (formerly Helene Fuld Medical Center), Trenton, NJ
Mercer Campus (formerly Mercer Medical Center), Trenton, NJ
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton (formerly Hamilton Hospital), Hamilton Township, NJ
Saint Francis Medical Center, Trenton, NJ
Saint Mary's Medical Center, Langhorne, PA
University Medical Center at Princeton, Princeton, NJ

Patient preference is generally honored.  Reasons an alternate receiving facility may be chosen frequently include:

Severity of illness or injury necessitating shorter transport;
Access to specialty care (e.g, trauma center, mental health services, cardiac catheterization);
Unavailable services (e.g., not all hospitals have inpatient obstetrics); or
Hospitals that request ambulances divert patients elsewhere for defined reasons.
