**Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad Firefighters Complete Rigorous Ice Rescue Technician Training**

The Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad proudly announces that its dedicated firefighters participated in comprehensive Ice Rescue training TODAY, February 21, 2026, at Rosedale Park in Hopewell Township.  This hands-on session equipped our team with some advanced skills and techniques essential for safely responding to advanced ice-related emergencies on frozen bodies of water.

While current weather and ice conditions in our area remain favorable and stable, the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad remains steadfast in its commitment to public safety and preparedness. We believe that ongoing, high-level training is critical to ensuring our responders are equipped to handle even the most challenging scenarios effectively and safely—protecting both victims and rescuers alike.

Trainings like this are the cornerstone of our mission,  Even when risks appear low, (which on ice looks can be very deceiving) we prioritize readiness so that our community can have full confidence in our ability to respond swiftly and professionally whenever the need arises.

The Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad has served the Hopewell Township area, and housed in the Titusville / Washington Crossing, since 1920, providing fire protection, emergency medical services, rescue operations, and marine response to residents and neighbors.
