Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad to Conduct Large-Scale Water Supply Training Exercise
Public Advised of Increased Fire Apparatus and Personnel Activity on Saturday

Titusville, NJ – April 16, 2026 – The Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad will conduct a large-scale water supply training exercise this Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the Hopewell Township/Valley Area. This important hands-on training will involve multiple fire departments and Water Tenders (Tankers) working together to practice rapid water supply operations during simulated emergency conditions.

The training will simulate a fire incident requiring sustained water flow from multiple sources, including hydrants, potentially drafting directly from ponds, lakes, streams, and  the river, as well as tender/tanker shuttle operations. Firefighters and rescue personnel will deploy large-diameter hose lines, pumps, and various water supply tactics to ensure they are fully prepared to protect our community during real emergencies.

**What the public can expect:**
– Increased presence of fire engines, tankers, and emergency services vehicles throughout the training area, particularly along Carter Road
– Temporary road closures or traffic delays in designated training zones
– Personnel in traffic vests or full turnout gear operating hoses, pumps, and equipment
– Possible noise from apparatus, pumps, and radio communications
– No actual emergency – this is a planned training exercise

Motorists are asked to use caution and drive slowly when approaching any fire apparatus or personnel. Residents near the training sites may notice heightened activity but are assured there is no cause for alarm.

Practicing these skills with our mutual aid partners ensures that when the real call comes, our teams can deliver water efficiently and effectively to protect lives and property.”
