Light It Up For A Cause

The Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad (Station 53 / Squad 153), is proud to announce the launch of our “Light It Up for a Cause” program. This community-supported initiative allows residents, businesses, and organizations to make a donation in honor of a special cause, awareness campaign, or personal milestone, and in return, we will illuminate the firehouse lights in a corresponding color for a designated period.

As a volunteer fire company and rescue squad serving Hopewell Township, Titusville, Washington’s Crossing, and surrounding areas since 1920, we provide essential fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), river rescue, and marine response—all at no cost to those we serve. This program offers a meaningful way for our community to show support for important causes while helping fund vital equipment, training, maintenance, and operations for our all-volunteer department.

How the Program Works
– Residents or groups select a cause or awareness ribbon/color (e.g., red for heart disease or firefighters, pink for breast cancer, blue for autism or law enforcement, purple for domestic violence, green for mental health, etc.).
– A suggested minimum donation applies (details available upon request; all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law).
– Upon receipt of the donation, we schedule the lighting—typically for one night, a weekend, or longer for major campaigns or in memoriam requests.
– The firehouse at 396 River Road, Titusville, NJ 08560, will glow in the chosen color, visible to passersby along Route 29 and the surrounding community.

This program not only raises much-needed funds for our department but also shines a light—literally—on the issues and organizations that matter most to our neighbors.
